During the 90's (when I served on Idaho Women's Network Board), I learned about CSTI. I ALWAYS wanted to attend this Conference, but the time (several days), the location (Portland) and the fact that I had a full time job (as Idaho's Farm Worker Monitor Advocate, within the Employment Department) plus was a single Mom (raising THREE daughters) posed several barriers for my attending. Finally, in 2002, by default (The Hispanic Caucus had selected someone else to represent them at CSTI and he was UNABLE to attend) I had the OPPORTUNITY (at last!) to attend! It was a life-changing experience. It was everything AND MUCH MORE than I had imagined about this conference! I met both Kelley Weigel and Moira Bowman, who have been two of the GREATEST progressive individuals I have had the opportunity to work with! I believe in the Center's work and have experienced much support in our work in Idaho. I support and will continue to support the Center's work for as long as I am able to do so!
